Samsung officially announced The Galaxy S III (i9300) Android (4.0 Icecream Sandwich) Smart phone. The new flagship smartphone has been shown up at Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2012 event in London on Thursday, May 3rd, 2012. Samsung Galaxy S III will be available in Europe at the end of May. The 4G version for U.S. market will be released “this summer” some time.

What is New in Samsung Galaxy S 3 ?

Samsung Galaxy S 3 came with exciting new features including a 4.8″ HD Super AMOLED display screen, 8MP rear facing camera, 2MP front facing camera for video calls, 2100mAh battery, NFC-based mobile payment support, 16/32GB on board storage, expandable up to 64GB of storage with external media, Samsung’s new 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Quad processor.

Samsung also announced S Health “personal wellness app” and an enhanced Music Hub cloud service with access to over 17 million tracks and an iTunes Match-sounding “Scan and Match” feature. Music Hub will launch in seven countries, while the matching feature is supported in six of those. There’s also a hub for Games that promises quick tie ins to social gaming and a Video Hub with TV and movies. One other new feature is support for MirrorLink enabled headunits that should bring access to all of these things even while you’re driving your car.

S-Voice: Everybody knows about Siri for iPhone. It is a smart application that can do actions corresponding to given voice commands. Samsung went beyond that. One of the cool things is telling the smartphone to raise the Volume Up or Volume Down so you don’t bother with the volume keys. But this is all just the basics of S Voice, you can search the internet by using Samsuung S-voice or organize your files and events easily as well!

Smart Stay: This is a really awesome approach to using eye tracking technology in a smart phone to judge the attention of phone user, a sensor will monitor the eyes of handset user for as long as he/she is looking at the phone’s screen, the screen will not auto-lock or go dim.

Anyone who has caught themselves in a lengthy texting conversation and thought, “This is ridiculous, I’m just going to call you,” will appreciate what Samsung calls “direct call” While texting, if you raise the phone to your ear, it will automatically dial the person you are texting with.
“Smart alerts” are intended to help cut down on unnoticed calls from important people in your contact list. If you leave your phone on your desk and miss a call from your boss or wife, when you return and pick up the phone to put it into your pocket, it will vibrate and display the missed calls.
“S Beam” lets you tap phones with another Galaxy S III owner to easily transfer files or documents.
“Pop up play” lets the user watch a video while surfing the Web or answering email. The video simply becomes a small box that overlays on any other apps that are running, like picture-in-picture on a TV.

Zero lag from the time you tap the screen to the capture of the image.
The ability to take a photo and be ready to take another in less than 1 second
A burst mode that captures 3.3 photos per second
The ability to capture still photos while recording HD video (very handy if you’ve ever tried to capture a child blowing out birthday candles and can’t decide between a still photo and a video).

Google, Inc. and Mobilink Pakistan Join Hands for starting Free SMS based Chat Service in Pakistan. Mobilink Pakistan became the 1st cellular company which enabled its customers with free messaging facility. Mobilink users can now chat with Gmail users from all over Pakistan.

Sending an SMS message from Google’s Gmail to any Mobilink number in Pakistan is free but the reply from number to Gmail chat will be charged @Rs. 1/- +Tax. So far the SMS sending is limited to 50 Messages per day from Gmail. However If the SMS sender receive a reply, the daily SMS limit will increase by 5 SMS Credits with 50 still being maximum limit. If the SMS credit goes down to zero at any point, it will be increased back automatically 24 hours later.

If you Want more SMS credits immediately?

Keep in mind that if you’d like a higher message credit, you can always send an SMS to your own phone, and then reply to that message multiple times. Every time you send a reply message, your SMS credit is increased by five. Effectively, you’re buying more messages by paying your phone company for these outgoing messages.

Google and Samsung officiallyannounced Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich phone, latest of its mobile operating system at Hongkong, world’s first Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. which will be the first device to run Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and will be launched in November.

This new OS combines the best of the Android 2.x phone interface with the Android 3.x Honeycomb tablet interface. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is designed for using with both phones and tablets.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Features:

Galaxy Nexus processor

Samsung Galaxy Nexus handset has a dual-core 1.2 GHz Processor by Texus Instruments (OMAP4460 processor)

Galaxy Nexus operating system

The Galaxy Nexus is the first handset to feature Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Ice Cream Sandwich is designed to bridge the gap between the user experience on Android 2.x phones and Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablets – the same operating system will now run on both types of hardware.

Galaxy Nexus memory

The Phone comes with 1GB of system memory, it is double the amount inside an iPhone 4S.

Galaxy Nexus display

It has a huge 4.65-inch Super AMOLED screen with 720p resolution.

Galaxy Nexus dimensions and weight

The device is 8.94mm thick and weighs in just a little heavier at 135g.

Galaxy Nexus Design

The phone is having a button-less display in front-bottom, this may confuse some of the users always looking to hit the Home key to get back to the main menu, but Google wanted to create a slick, edge-to-edge front to the phone.

Galaxy Nexus camera and video

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone can shoot 1080p video, just like the iPhone 4S and Galaxy S2. It is also equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat . There’s also a panorama mode plus, and according to Samsung, no shutter lag.

Galaxy Nexus connectivity and sensors

The handset cam with various connectivity options including Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11n Wi-Fi and HSPA+ (which enables a download speeds of up to 21Mbps) over 4G networks, available in the US only at the moment. There is also a proximity sensor a barometer in Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone.

Galaxy Nexus storage

The handset came with two versions of internal storage capacity: 16GB or 32GB

Galaxy Nexus Power

It has a 1,750 mAh battery – which is far better than the 1,420 mAh battery in the iPhone 4S.
